FAQ
LensesㆍProducts
Q. How do I know which lens replacement schedule is right for me?
It depends on how often you plan to wear them. Daily lenses are a convenient and hygienic option, as you simply discard them after each use. Yearly lenses can be more cost-effective for long-term wear but require proper cleaning and storage after every use. If you’re unsure which option is right for you, consult your eye care professional.
Q. What's the difference between HEMA, Silicone Hydrogel, and MPC (LIPIDURE) lens materials?
Each material has different strengths:
- HEMA – A soft, moisture-retaining hydrogel widely used in contact lenses. Great for everyday comfort.
- Silicone Hydrogel – Combines breathability (high oxygen permeability) with moisture retention. Less protein buildup due to its non-ionic properties. Ideal for longer wear times.
- MPC (LIPIDURE/Phosphorylcholine) – A biocompatible material inspired by human cell membrane proteins. Extremely soft fit, minimal foreign matter buildup, and excellent for sensitive eyes.
Check the individual product page to see which material each lens uses.
Q. What does "water content" mean, and why does it matter?
Water content is the percentage of moisture a lens holds to maintain its shape and comfort during wear. Generally, a higher water content means more initial moisture, but lenses can dry out faster on low-humidity days. A lower water content (under 50%) is often better if you experience severe dryness, wear lenses for more than 6 hours a day, have frequent eye discharge, or use one pair for over a month. Higher water content may suit first-time wearers or those who only wear lenses occasionally.
Q. I have astigmatism. Can I still wear OLOLA lenses?
Our lenses are non-toric (spherical), so they're not specifically designed for astigmatism. However, we provide a spherical equivalent conversion guide to help you find the closest compatible power. For higher prescriptions or significant astigmatism (CYL values), we strongly recommend consulting your eye care professional before ordering.
Q. What is the graphic diameter (G.DIA) and why does it matter?
The graphic diameter refers to the size of the colored area of the lens. A larger graphic diameter (e.g., 13.5–14.5mm) creates a more dramatic, enlarging "dolly eye" effect, while a smaller one looks more natural. Check each product page for the specific G.DIA. If you prefer a subtle look, choose a smaller graphic diameter closer to your natural iris size.
Q. Will the color look the same on my eyes as in the photos?
The appearance of colored lenses can vary depending on your natural eye color, lighting conditions, and individual iris shape. Darker eyes (dark brown) will show more opaque or tonal lenses best, as lighter colors may not show up as vividly. Lighter eyes have more flexibility with color. We recommend checking customer review photos for a more realistic idea of how each lens looks on different eye tones.
Lens Wearㆍqualityㆍmaterialㆍsafety
Q. How safe are OLOLA colored contacts? (CE,KGMP and ISO & KFDA approved)
Your safety is our top priority. All OLOLA lenses are made in Korea and certified by KFDA, ISO, CE, and KGMP.
We’ve specialized in colored lenses for over 10 years and carefully monitor product quality and customer feedback. Thousands of positive reviews on Instagram, Google, and Facebook prove our commitment to safety and quality.
Our lenses are as safe as clear contacts when used with proper hygiene—like clean hands, regular disinfection, and no overnight wear. Each pair comes in a sealed, sterile saline pack for safe and comfortable use.
Q. Do colored contacts damage my eyesight?
Colored contacts won’t harm your eyes if you use them properly. This means washing your hands before handling lenses, cleaning and disinfecting them daily, storing them correctly, avoiding wearing them too long or overnight, and never sharing lenses with others. Our lenses meet the same safety standards as regular contacts. If you experience any discomfort, please consult an eye doctor.
Q. Are your lenses reusable?
Yes, our lenses can be reused, but the usage period depends on the type of product (daily, monthly, yearly). Please check product description or contact us if unsure!
Q. My lens feels uncomfortable. What should I do?
Remove the lens immediately and check for the following: visible damage or tears, debris on the lens, or incorrect orientation (inside out). Rinse with contact lens solution and reinsert. If discomfort persists — such as redness, blurry vision, or pain — remove both lenses and consult an eye care professional. Do not continue wearing lenses that cause prolonged discomfort.
Q. Is it safe to wear lenses every day?
We recommend not to wear your lenses for more than 6 hours at a time, and it’s best not to wear them every day. Colored contacts are designed mainly for cosmetic purposes and aren’t meant to replace your regular clear lenses.
Q. Can I sleep in my contacts?
Sleeping with regular contact lenses is very harmful to your eye health and increases the risk of infection. Always remove your lenses before sleeping. Unless you have special lenses designed for overnight wear, avoid sleeping with contacts in.
Q. What age is safe to start wearingcolored contacts?
There’s no set age for wearing contact lenses. On average, many eye doctors recommend starting between ages 11 and 13.
Make sure you know how to wear and care for lenses, and always listen to your eye doctor’s advice.
Q. Can I wear prescription glasses overnon-prescription colored contacts?
Yes, wearing prescription glasses over non-prescription colored contacts is safe. It’s a great way to enjoy both vision correction and style. Just be sure to keep your lenses clean and take care of your eye health.
Q. Where are OLOLA lenses made?
All OLOLA lenses are made in Korea. We produce our products in Korea to ensure high quality and safety for our customers.
Q. How do I know if my lens is inside out?
Place the lens on your fingertip and look at it from the side. If the edges flare outward like a bowl that's too flat, it's inside out. If the edges curve gently upward like a perfect bowl or the letter "U," it's the correct way. You can also check — if it feels uncomfortable immediately after inserting, try flipping it.
